Thomas Hester, M.D.
Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Hester is the chief of the State of Hawaii’s Adult Mental Health Division.
  Michael Wylie, Ph.D.
Co-Principal Investigator

Dr. Wylie is co-principal investigator for the EBP project. He was a predoctoral clinical intern and a postdoctoral fellow in the department of psychiatry at the University of Chicago and has taught psychology at Minnesota State University and University of Guam. Dr. Wylie is presently a faculty member at the University of Hawaii and a consulting psychologist to the Adult Mental Health Division.
         
Heather Jablonski, LCSW, CSAC
AMHD EBP Project Manager

Ms. Jablonski has extensive clinical experience in mental health service delivery including case management, psychotherapy, dual disorders treatment, and program management.
  Rebecca M. Beardsley, Ph.D., CSAC
IDDT Project Trainer

Dr. Beardsley has extensive clinical, training, and administrative experience in the mental health and substance abuse fields. Her primary clinical and research interests include trauma (PTSD), addictions, and dual disorders.
 
Ronnie San Nicholas, Ph.D.
Assistant Researcher, Mental Health Services Research, Evaluation and Training Program, University of Hawaii
IMSR Project Trainer

Dr. San Nicholas’s interests include community mental health and social work practice with families and persons with serious mental illnesses.
  Deborah Altschul, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor, University of Hawaii at Manoa
Cultural Competency Specialist

Dr. Altschul holds a joint appointment with the State of Hawai‘i Department of Health. Her primary interests are in cultural competency in mental health delivery and treatment outcome effectiveness.
 
John Steffen, Ph.D.
Professor, University of Hawaii at Manoa
Evaluation Specialist

Dr. Steffen holds a joint appointment with the Hawai‘i State Department of Health. His interests include mental health service delivery, schizophrenia, recovery from serious mental illness, and integration of primary behavior and health care.
  Janet Shaikh, B.S.
Janet is a graduate research assistant with the Mental Health Services Research, Evaluation and Training Program. She is a master's student in political science at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
 
David Rothwell, M.S.W
David is a graduate research assistant with the AMHD Mental Health Research Service and Evaluation Center. He is a PhD student in social welfare at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
