Crisis

		Steve Balcom, MA is the statewide Crisis Services Director for the Adult Mental Health Division. For nearly 20 years Mr. Balcom has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions with community mental health providers, both on the mainland and here in Hawaii. Mr. Balcom has been with AMHD since October, 2005.
In his role as Crisis Services Director, Mr. Balcom is responsible for:

•

Developing and monitoring a state-wide array of crisis services available to both AMHD consumers and the public-at-large

•

Developing RFP scopes of service for all contracted crisis services

•

Providing technical assistance and training on crisis services, the ACCESS Line, and other related topics

•

Developing interagency partnerships to ensure a comprehensive, integrated system of crisis services

•

Developing AMHD�s statewide crisis services plan

•

Providing administrative oversight of the ACCESS Line program

AMHD Crisis Services includes the following:
Crisis Mobile Outreach
Crisis Support Management
Licensed Crisis Residential Services
Certified Peer Support
Crisis Management Fund
Pre-Booking Jail Diversion (In Development)

Contracted Providers for these services are:

For Maui County, including Moloka�i and Lana�i: Aloha House

For all other counties: CARE Hawaii
